Privacy Policy for Healthy Choices Bahrain

Effective Date: 28/2/2026 · Last Updated: 28/7/2026

1. Data Controller

The "data controller" responsible for processing your personal data is: Healthy Choices / Healthy Choices Catering. Contact email: hello@healthychoices.bh. Address: Shop 1, Bldg 67, Road 501, Block 905. If you have any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at the details above.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We may collect, store, and process the following categories of personal data: • Account Information — Name, email address, phone number, delivery address. • Health and Dietary Data (if provided voluntarily) — Dietary preferences, health goals, food intake records, allergies, and dislikes. • App Usage & Analytics Data — Custom interaction events (such as login, subscription, meal swap, and payment), feature usage metrics, device/app identifiers, and your Customer UUID (an internal account identifier) collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Firebase Analytics may also automatically collect limited session and screen/navigation data. • Crash & Diagnostic Logs — Error and crash reports, stack traces, device specifications, operating system version, app version/build, navigation/performance context, and your Customer UUID collected via Sentry to diagnose failures and stability issues. • Location Data (optional, only if you enable it). We collect this information to deliver app features, operate the service, diagnose issues, and improve your experience. We do not send your name, email, or phone number to GA4 or Sentry.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under Bahraini law (PDPL), we may process your personal data only where one or more of the following applies: Consent — You have clearly agreed to the processing. Contractual Necessity — Processing is needed to provide the services you request. Legal Obligation — We must process data to comply with applicable laws. Legitimate Interests — For analytics, crash monitoring, or app improvement when not overridden by your privacy rights.

4. How We Use Your Personal Data

We may use your data for: setting up and managing your user account; delivering the core services of the Healthy Choices app; communicating updates, announcements, or support responses; analyzing usage trends and improving app features; diagnosing crashes and technical issues to maintain app stability; complying with legal requirements or responding to lawful requests. We do not use your data for purposes other than those described here without your consent unless required by law. We do not use GA4 or Sentry for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

5. Personal Data Disclosure

We may share relevant technical and usage data with trusted third-party service providers and data processors who assist us in operating and maintaining the Healthy Choices App: • Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — For measuring app engagement, user retention, and feature usage. • Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — For real-time error tracking, crash monitoring, and diagnosing application bugs linked to your Customer UUID. • Other service providers as needed to operate the app (for example payment processors and delivery operations), and legal authorities when required by law or to protect legal rights. All third-party processors are bound by contractual agreements to process your data securely and solely for the purposes specified by Healthy Choices. We will not sell or rent your personal data to third parties for marketing purposes without your explicit permission.

5.1 Analytics & Error Monitoring Technologies

To ensure the Healthy Choices App runs smoothly and to continuously improve your user experience, we integrate the following tools: a) Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We use GA4 primarily through custom events we define (e.g., login, subscription started/renewed, meal swapped, payment captured) to understand product usage. Firebase Analytics may also automatically collect limited session and screen/navigation data. Events may include pseudonymous device identifiers and may be associated with your Customer UUID (an internal identifier). We do not transmit personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email, or phone number to Google Analytics. b) Sentry Crash Reporting: When the app encounters a crash, exception, or technical issue, diagnostic data is sent to Sentry. This may include stack traces, your Customer UUID, device type, OS version, app version/build, and limited navigation/performance context (for example breadcrumbs that help reconstruct what happened before an error). This data is used strictly for debugging, troubleshooting, and improving app stability. Sentry is configured not to send default PII (such as IP address by default), and we do not attach your name, email, or phone number to Sentry reports. Crash and diagnostic data may be processed on Sentry’s EU infrastructure.

6. International Data Transfers

If we transfer personal data outside Bahrain (including to processors such as Google and Sentry), we will ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to comply with PDPL obligations and protect your data.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These measures include encrypted storage, access controls, and secure servers.

8. Your Rights

Under Bahraini data protection law, you have the right to: access your personal data held by us; correct inaccurate or incomplete information; delete or remove your personal data; object to processing in certain circumstances; withdraw consent at any time (for processing based solely on consent). To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@healthychoices.bh.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or to comply with legal obligations. Analytics and crash logs are retained according to our configuration with each provider and our operational needs for diagnosing issues and improving the app.

10. Children's Privacy

Healthy Choices does not knowingly collect or process personal data from children under 16 without parental consent.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be notified within the app or by email. Continued use of the app after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
